  • Homer Laughlin China Co. has promoted Sean Adkins  to the newly created position of Director-Technical and Operations, responsible for day-to-day operations of the company’s engineering and maintenance departments and for overseeing one of the company’s most-automated plants. Adkins has been with the Newell, W. Va., company for almost 20 years in positions ranging from environmental engineering to project management.
  • Sparks Custom Fabrication is expanding its 3-year-old manufacturing plant in Adamsville, Tenn. The company, which specializes in custom millwork, stainless steel, stone and refrigeration products, including hot and cold food bars, serving counters and shelving, will add 10,000 sq.ft. of warehouse space to its existing 100,000-sq.ft. facility. “This expansion will provide opportunities for SCF to grow our business in the foodservice equipment industry,” says SCF President Nathaniel Sparks. “The company’s growth is a direct result of our employees’ quality and attention to detail for our customers.”
