Burgerim Plans Growth In California

The Israeli-born “better burger” chain has targeted California for a major expansion. Burgerim, which launched in Tel Aviv in 2011 and now has 160 locations worldwide, currently has 19 outlets in California but has its sights set to expand to about 95 restaurants in the state. Ten locations are in the works in the San Francisco Bay area; three will be certified halal. Most of the company’s current locations are in Southern California; global headquarters are in Encino.
