Fast-casual restaurant franchise Wing Zone this week announced the hiring of two industry veterans to the executive team.

The two new leaders have already started working toward the company’s collective goal of achieving 250 franchise units that produce $1 million per year by 2025, Wing Zone revealed in a press release.

The new appointments are as follows:

  • Derek Roback, vice president of operations: Roback started his career in the foodservice industry as part of Domino’s executive leadership development program, managing corporate and franchise units. Most recently, Roback acted as the manager of field technology and innovation for 17 states in the western United States for The Wendy’s Co. As vice president of operations for Wing Zone, Roback is tasked with growing the franchise worldwide.
  • Dean Sasso, director of marketing: Sasso’s deep marketing knowledge comes from his time spent at multiple advertising agencies crafting promotional campaigns for various clients. He’s held roles with Ryan Partnership, been the associate creative director at Epsilon, spent four years as the digital marketing director of RogueWaveGroup and, most recently, served as the director of brand marketing for Exeo Entertainment. As Wing Zone’s new director of marketing, Sasso will spearhead new and maintain current consumer marketing initiatives.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop acquired Wing Zone earlier this year. For additional foodservice industry hire, promotion and retirement news, click here.
