California Pizza Kitchen Continues Expansion in India

California Pizza Kitchen has opened its second restaurant in India. The Los Angeles chain has partnered with franchisee JSMGGC India Pvt. Ltd., a joint-venture between Mumbai-based JSM Corp. and Dubai-based Gourmet Gulf Co.

Like CPK’s other location in the country, the new unit is in Mumbai. Located in the city’s densely commercial High Street Phoenix, the 4,000 sq.-ft. restaurant seats approximately 190 people and as with domestic stores, is centered around an open-exhibition kitchen. The 25-year-old chain has 266 restaurants; 207 are company-owned and 59 operate under franchise or license agreements. There are currently 34 restaurants located internationally in China, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, South Korea, Guam, India, Indonesia and United Arab Emirates.
