Chick-fil-A To Hit Manhattan

Chick-fil-A is making good on its vow of “urbanization” and will debut its first New York franchise this summer. The privately owned chain will open a 5,000-sq.-ft. store on Sixth Avenue, not far from the Empire State Building. The unit joins a small Chick-fil-A that has operated for years on the campus of New York University. More locations around the city could follow later this year.

The Atlanta chain, which now has 1,900 restaurants and hit sales of $6 billion in 2014, announced last year its intention to expand into urban centers. It began opening stores a few years ago in Chicago and now has eight outlets in the city and suburbs.
