Bojangles’ Updates With “Biscuit Theater” Design

The Charlotte, N.C., chicken chain has unveiled a new design concept for its restaurants, with plans to roll out the look in its hometown and other locations. Bolder graphics, high-top community tables and softer lighting provide a more sophisticated look for the Greenville, S.C., Bojangles’ Famous Chicken and Biscuits outlet, but the highlight is a “Biscuit Theater,” where customers can watch employees make biscuits every 20 minutes.

Most of Bojangles’ 700 restaurants are in the Southeast, but it’s expanding its presence in the Northeast with a deal for four new stores in Pennsylvania. When the chain went public in 2015, management laid out an expansion plan to fill in its core in the Carolinas, then gradually spread into adjacent markets.
