In Memoriam: Dealer Charles Session Sr.

Charles Session Sr., president and founder of St. Louis-based Session Fixture Co., died January 9. He spent 55 years in the foodservice equipment and supplies business; his dealership marks its 40th anniversary this year.

At age 18, Session began buying and selling used restaurant equipment and cultivating relationships in East St. Louis, Ill. As his business grew, he moved to South St. Louis County in Missouri; due to his efforts, the building that houses Session Fixture Co. is now on the county’s historical registry. In 2002, he added the new building at 6044 Lemay Ferry Rd to accommodate for the growth of the company, and last December, Session broke ground for a new warehouse in Arnold, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
