Middleby Adds Danish Industrial Cooling, Freezing Equipment Maker

The Middleby Corp. has acquired Scanico A/S, a Danish manufacturer of industrial cooling and freezing equipment for the food processing industry. The company, based in Aalborg, Denmark, has approximately $30 million in annual revenues. Scanico A/S will be integrated with Middleby's Food Processing Equipment Group, which manufactures products including batch ovens, processing ovens, defrosting and packaging equipment.

Elgin, Ill.-based Middleby has made a number of acquisitions this year for its food processing and commercial foodservice equipment divisions, including Globe Food Equipment, QualServ, Sveba Dahlen, Burford, and CVP Packaging Systems.
