Honors And Notable Achievements

Edlund Co., one of the earliest NAFEM members to implement ISO certification, has had its ISO 9001:2015 status re-certified. It is no small achievement for any company, large or small; a re-certification audit has to be performed every three years and the organization as a whole is reviewed. Certification by the International Organization for Standardization for quality management systems is demonstrated by the ability to provide products and services that meet customer requirements and to continually improve the organization. Bettcher Industries, the Birmingham, Ohio, manufacturer, recently achieved its certification, too.

Winston Foodservice presented its annual Equipment Grant Award to Grand Haven Area Public Schools in Michigan. The program is in partnership with the School Nutrition Foundation; Winston provides the equipment for the grant, but plays no role in selecting which district will receive it. Grant winners may choose any ten pieces of Winston’s CVap equipment, collectively valued at approximately $50,000.

Parts Town, the Chicago-based parts distributor, has been recognized for a tenth consecutive year in Inc. magazine’s 37th annual Inc. 5000 list. Parts Town earned its ranking as one of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies by posting a growth rate of 370% from 2013 to 2017. The list, which focuses on the nation’s independent entrepreneurs, ranks companies according to percentage revenue growth when comparing ‘14 to ‘17. Other foodservice equipment and supplies companies on this year’s list include KaTom Restaurant Supply (also making a tenth appearance on the list), and Arctic Supplies. Let us know if we missed your firm; it’s a very long list to peruse!
