Rollout Eyed For Romanian Chain

After operating only in Bucharest, Romanian restaurant group City Grill plans to expand its two largest brands into several major cities in the country. The group’s owner is looking for suitable buildings for City Grill or Hanul Berarilor (Brewers’ Inn) restaurants in Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Timisoara, Constanta and Sibiu.

At least one location will open this year, most likely a Hanul Berarilor restaurant in Oradea; all the brand’s locations are in historic buildings which the chain then markets as culinary tourism destinations.

City Grill currently manages 19 restaurants and cafés, including Caru’ cu Bere, Hanu’ lui Manuc, Pescăruş, Trattoria Buongiorno, and City Café.
