A Change At The Top For Glassmaker

Michael Bauer has stepped into the CEO office at Libbey Inc., succeeding William Foley, who remains as executive chairman of the board.

Bauer, who assumed the post March 25, also was appointed to Libbey’s board of directors. His 30-year career has been spent in the consumer sector, serving as president of Moen, the sink and faucet maker, and most recently as president of The Master Lock Co.

Based in Toledo, Ohio, Libbey operates glassware manufacturing plants in the U.S., Mexico, China, Portugal and the Netherlands.
