Profiles In Service: Inspiring Stories from the Foodservice Industry

COVID-19 has challenged us all, especially those that support the foodservice industry. We’d like to share some stories about how we as an industry, backed by a can-do attitude have tapped into our creativity and spirit of hospitality to fuel positivity when it’s needed most. Individuals, small businesses and larger organizations with the help of nonprofits have answered the call to support their communities to bring not only meals, but hope to people every day.

We’d like to take a few minutes to recognize these achievements you may not have heard about on the local or national news – stories that unite us as an industry and as people, including:

• Feeding the Frontline: Chicago restaurant workers serving meals to healthcare teams as they care for COVID-19 patients
• Hyde County School District: A North Carolina principal working with her foodservice team and support staff to feed ALL the children in her county
• The LEE Initiative: A restaurant owner and his team feeding furloughed restaurant workers in Cincinnati
