How to Reignite a Pilot Light

Service agents often get calls about gas oven pilot lights that won’t turn on. Definitely consult your model’s manual but generally, the steps are as follows: Turn the oven thermostat knob to “off” and wait five minutes. Find the pilot burner (usually behind the oven’s lower kick plate). Rotate the thermostat to the pilot position and push it and hold it in, then light the pilot burner. Continue pushing the thermostat button for about 30 seconds, until the pilot remains lit, and release. Turn the oven thermostat knob to “on” and set the temperature. Make sure the oven burner ignites from the pilot. Replace the kick plate.
