Captain D’s Inks First European Expansion Deal
The deal will bring 20 units to the UK, with the first location opening in the London area in 2025.

Captain D’s has signed a deal that will bring 20 units to the U.K., marking its first move into Europe. The brand expects to open the first restaurant in the London area this year.
The deal marks Captain D’s second international development agreement. In 2024, it announced its Canadian expansion in Toronto.
“We are highly enthused to bring our unique brand to the United Kingdom. Captain D’s will bring our craveable seafood to the guests of the UK,” says Phil Greifeld, CEO of Captain D’s, in the release. “Entering the UK with experienced restaurant operators underscores our commitment to our thoughtful international growth. This is just the beginning of our expansion of Captain D’s quality seafood and hospitality to seafood lovers around the world.”
Hair Parra, senior vice president of international operations and development for Captain D’s, adds that the brand’s goal is to expand as well as ensure it’s building something sustainable and impactful. It’s working closely with master franchisees to deliver results. The brand says its flexible prototypes paired with its versatile seafood and chicken menu position it for success in the U.K. and other international markets.
Headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., Captain D’s has more than 530 restaurants in 23 states.
