Dave and Buster’s Tests Checkout-Free Micro-Market

Dave and Buster’s is giving hungry customers a new way to get a bite to eat at its Hollywood, Fla., location.
The brand announced it’s testing a checkout-free micro-market in partnership with The Coca-Cola Co. Called Game and Go, the market uses AI technology to allow guests to walk in, grab snacks and drinks and walk out—all without having to stand in line and check out.
“Innovation is critical in the entertainment business, and our new Game and Go micro-market is truly state of the art,” says Brandon Coleman III, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Dave & Buster’s, in a press release. “Our F&B team partnered closely with The Coca-Cola Co. to bring this exciting new technology to life, and I think the guest is really going to enjoy the new food and drinks, as well as frictionless payment.”
The new experience adds to Dave and Buster’s full-service dining option and is ideal for guests who want to get a quick snack or drink and get back to playing games. Dave and Buster’s says it is the first to launch an entirely frictionless market checkout process within a full-service restaurant.
The concept is similar to the Starbucks Pickup store in New York City that features a grab-and-go Amazon Go market equipped with “Just Walk Out” technology.
Dave and Buster’s celebrated the grand opening of Game and Go on July 7.
