Los Angeles, California: FATBURGER, American fast casual restaurant chain

Fatburger is bulking up its presence in France, counting on opening 30 more units in the country over the next three years.

Of those, five stores are set to open in 2026. The just-announced growth plans will be carried out in partnership with the group behind Big M CIE—a concept, born in 2019, which calls itself “one of the pioneers of halal fast food in France.”

“Since opening our first location nearly three years ago in Sarcelles, we have been looking for the right strategic opportunities to continue our expansion in France,” says Taylor Wiederhorn, chief development officer of Fatburger parent company FAT Brands, in the April 4 press release. “Mehdi Bella and his team have a vast amount of experience within the restaurant space and successfully operate their own restaurant franchise in the country. We are confident they are the right partners to quickly scale Fatburger to amplify the brand’s presence across France—showcasing what makes Fatburger unique—our custom-built burgers, Fat and Skinny Fries and hand-scooped milkshakes.”
