Hot Dog on a Stick has been acquired by an affiliate of Amazing Brands—a multi-brand restaurant and hospitality platform led by Stephen Siegel—through a bankruptcy court-approved transaction.

The new ownership will lead the brand in pursuing “disciplined growth,” says the press release, including evaluating growth opportunities in the Las Vegas area for a flagship and additional units alike.

Hot Dog on a Stick was founded in 1946 in Santa Monica, Calif., where its original stand remains operational. Today, the brand operates 44 corporate-owned and franchised restaurants.

Under the new ownership, the company says it will focus on strengthening operations, elevating the guest experience, enhancing marketing and social engagement, refining restaurant design, introducing menu innovations and LTOs, and expanding the leadership team to support long-term growth.

“Sometimes great brands simply need renewed energy, attention and a lot of love. I believe I am the right person to give Hot Dog on a Stick exactly that,” Siegel says. “Hot Dog on a Stick has all the ingredients of a great American brand—strong brand recognition, a loyal following and products that deliver genuine nostalgia and fun. This is about respecting everything people already love while thoughtfully evolving the brand for the next generation.”

Amazing Brands’ other concepts are Pinkbox Doughnuts, Siegel’s Bagelmania and Piero’s Italian Cuisine.
