Huey Magoo’s Debuts Smaller Prototype
The chicken tender brand eyes nontraditional spaces as one way to grow its footprint.

Huey Magoo’s, a fast-casual chicken tenders brand, has debuted a condensed store prototype. The announcement follows the July opening of the brand’s first airport location, situated in Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Sarasota, Fla.
Andy Howard, president and CEO of Huey Magoo’s, in the release says, “by expanding into more nontraditional spaces like airports, which are now more accessible from a cost standpoint, we’re excited to be opening even more avenues for franchisees to grow with us.”
The prototype lowers buildout costs, accelerates development timelines and helps secure prime real estate in smaller high-traffic retail centers, the company says. It adds that, with the growing number of consumers choosing online ordering and takeout, the design delivers operational efficiencies in labor, utilities and overhead while maintaining the same menu and experience.
So far this year, Huey Magoo’s has opened locations in Georgia, Missouri, Ohio and Florida. It plans to open more restaurants in Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri and Florida before the year’s end. It also signed several multiunit deals in 2025. Based in Orlando, Fla., the brand has more than 75 locations in 12 states.
