The openings expand beyond the brand’s current pilot of two robotic kiosk locations in a shopping mall and a big box retailer.

The 850-unit smoothie brand Jamba is bringing its autonomous robotic kiosks to two college campuses for the first time in a new pilot program.

The company says the new locations at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga., and Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Ga., will increase the brand’s accessibility to on-the-go students, staff and faculty members.

“Since the beginning, we have wanted to test the Jamba by Blendid kiosks on college campuses. We know there is increasing demand for more ways to access our products, and by introducing our robotic kiosks at colleges and universities across the country, we are making it even easier for consumers to enjoy smoothies 24/7,” says Geoff Henry, president of Jamba, in a press release.

The kiosks leverage machine learning, robotics and artificial intelligence to create a fully autonomous, contactless experience. Both locations will be open extended hours, and guests can place orders in person at the kiosk or order ahead with the Blendid app on Android or iOS. Additionally, they can make a payment using their respective college’s dining cards.

The openings expand beyond the brand’s current pilot of two robotic kiosk locations in a shopping mall and a big box retailer. Jamba says it continues to explore opportunities to open more robotic kiosks in other nontraditional venues, like gyms, hospitals, airports and more.
