LTI’s Mike Purcell Officially Retires

Succeeding Purcell as vice president of sales and marketing is Johnnie Merchant.

First announced in December, LTI Inc. today shared the retirement of Mike Purcell, vice president of sales and marketing, effective June 2. He spent over six decades in the foodservice industry.

His tenure at LTI began when he and his business partner, Brian Madden, were approached by Bill Steadman to represent Low Temp (now LTI) in Metro, N.Y., according to the release. Over the years, his roles evolved, and he played a crucial part in product development, rep training and sales strategy, in his current leadership position.

“Mike Purcell’s retirement marks the end of an era,” says Barbara Casey Lane, president at LTI, in a statement. “His unwavering commitment, innovative mindset and profound industry knowledge have left an indelible mark on our company. While we will miss his presence, we are incredibly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and wish him the very best in his retirement.”

Succeeding Purcell as vice president of sales and marketing is Johnnie Merchant who brings over 30 years of experience in leadership roles within the foodservice industry. Merchant joined LTI as a regional sales manager in April 2023 and as part of the strategic transition plan was promoted in December 2023 to vice president of sales and marketing.
