Middleby Corp. has acquired Brooksville, Fla.-based Emery Thompson, a global frozen dessert equipment brand with $10 million in annual revenues.

Middleby CEO Tim FitzGerald says there are many synergies between Emery Thompson and Taylor Co., a Middleby brand (since 2018) offering soft serve and frozen yogurt machines, frozen cocktail equipment, and more. FitzGerald says he expects the union of the brands to offer sales growth opportunities for Emery Thompson through Middleby’s market channels and partners.

“Emery Thompson is a highly respected, well-established brand that will greatly enhance our product offerings in the frozen dessert category,” FitzGerald adds. “As gelato, frozen yogurt and custard, sorbet, hard ice cream, sherbet and Italian ice continue to gain popularity in the marketplace, Middleby will be well-positioned to address this customer demand.”

Emery Thompson, founded in 1905, manufactures batch freezers, hardening cabinets and frozen dessert accessories.
