Moe’s Southwest Grill Enters ‘New Era of Growth’
Part of the fast-casual’s growth plan includes expanding its national footprint into 21 emerging markets.

Moe’s Southwest Grill, part of GoTo Foods, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a slew of company updates.
The fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand says it reached a record-breaking average unit volume of more than $1,235,000 in 2024, marking four consecutive years of growth. It attributes the success to strategic initiatives in franchise development, culinary innovation and expanded loyalty programs.
“As we celebrate 25 years in the fast casual business, we are leading Moe’s into a new era of growth,” says Mike Smith, chief brand officer as of October, in a press release.
Over the past year, Moe’s has opened 15 new locations across the country. It has more than 120 signed agreements in various stages of development. Going forward, it looks to build density in existing markets while expanding its national footprint into 21 emerging markets. Meanwhile, it continues to refresh and modernize the look of the brand; prototypical updates will continue throughout 2025, with locations seeing, on average, a double-digit increase in sales post-remodel.
Moe’s has about 580 locations total. Other brands under GoTo Foods include Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, McAlister’s Deli and Schlotzsky’s, as well as the Seattle’s Best Coffee brand on certain military bases and in certain international markets.
