Prince St. Pizza is known for its Sicilian-style square pies and pepperoni-loaded pizza, while Nobibi offers "Instagram-worthy" soft-serve desserts.
New flavors are in store for several U.S. markets as various brands announce expansion plans.
Here are a few late March announcements to note:
- Prince St. Pizza: The New York City-born pizzeria is partnering with Lawrence Kourie (the founding and largest franchise owner of Dave’s Hot Chicken) to help it scale across key U.S. markets. “I’ve built my career around identifying concepts with real cultural and culinary significance and helping them reach more people,” Kourie says. “The opportunity here is to scale it thoughtfully, so that each new place experiences the brand in a way that feels authentic from day one. Like they are stepping into a true New York slice joint.” Currently, Prince St. Pizza has 18 locations across the U.S.
- Nobibi: The soft-serve dessert concept secured eight new franchise agreements in Q1, it announced on March 26. The additions significantly expand Nobibi’s footprint across California, with plans for Southern and Northern California markets, including Cerritos, Anaheim, Temecula, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Rancho Cucamonga, Dublin and San Ramon. Further, internationally, Nobibi continues to build on its early presence in Mexico and Indonesia. The company also is pursuing partnerships in Texas, Arizona, Florida and Nevada as well as Vietnam, Philippines, India and Malaysia. Today, Nobibi has nearly 20 locations open and in development.
- Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken: The 130-plus unit QSR chain is set to open six new locations in South Carolina in partnership with franchisee Harris Mullis, who runs a unit in Rock Hill, S.C. In 2022, he received the brand’s Operator of the Year award. “Ever since I decided Lee’s was my long-term plan, I’ve wanted to be a multi-unit operator,” Mullis says.
Additionally, The Peach Cobbler Factory announced the opening of its sixth location by Memphis-based franchisees Otis and Janie Jackson. Finally, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit shared last week that it has new restaurant openings on the horizon for Blakely, Ga.; Thibodaux, La.; Secaucus, N.J; and additional locations in Alberta and Edmonton, Canada.
