NYC-Based Wings Concept To Spread Out
The 25-unit chain will launch its first drive-thru this year, among other growth plans.
Atomic Wings, a quick-service concept based in New York City, says it will open at least 20 more locations by the end of this year, nearly doubling its size.
Among those in-development locations is its first drive-thru unit, set to open this spring in Houston. Going forward, Atomic Wings says it will continue to target drive-thru sites. “Because chicken wings can take up to 20 minutes to cook, not many wing concepts can offer efficient drive-thru service,” the brand states in a Feb. 20 press release. Atomic Wings, however, says it has streamlined its process down to about four minutes.
To grow its presence, the brand aims to sign multiple new deals in Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Florida. More broadly, the Midwest and East Coast mark two areas the brand is targeting for added strategic development, says Mike Harmon, VP of operations at Atomic Wings.
Today, Atomic Wings has 25 locations—five of which opened in 2023. The brand also added flatbreads to its menu last year, and says it expects to launch a catering menu in 2024.
