Singer Gains Ground Via Acquisition

The fresh business deal expands Elverson, Pa.-based Singer Equipment Co.’s reach into the southeast.

Singer-Equipment

Singer Equipment Co. has acquired the business of Hotel & Restaurant Supply, a Meridian, Miss.-based dealer with six additional locations throughout Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Louisiana.

The new division will operate under the name Singer H&R.

Mason Greene, chairman of Hotel & Restaurant Supply, says in a release that Singer will help accelerate the company’s next phase of growth. Greene will join Singer H&R as managing director of the company, while Marcus Lyon, president of Hotel & Restaurant Supply, will continue as president of Singer H&R; both men will report to Singer Equipment President and CEO Fred Singer.

“This was a perfect fit as both companies are family owned and share the same values, culture alignment and strategic initiatives,” Lyon states. “I am excited for the future and what this opportunity brings to our customers, our people as well as all our vendor partners.  As a company, we will continue to focus on strong growth and the benefits from our new scale and resources as a result of this transaction.”

Singer Equipment Co. ranked fourth on FER’s 2023 Top Dealers list, while Hotel & Restaurant Supply was No. 19. Stay tuned for the 2024 report, set to appear in the upcoming May/June edition.
