Smart Care Announces Trifecta of Acquisitions

Chicago-based Smart Care continues to grow, finalizing three acquisitions in Q4 of 2023.

The latest add-ons, announced late last month, expand the reach and breadth of the service provider’s capabilities and coverage areas. Details are as follows:

• Watson Refrigeration joins Smart Care’s Climate Solutions business, which specializes in refrigeration systems. Watson is based in Raleigh, N.C., and provides installation, emergency repair and planned maintenance services for refrigeration equipment. The addition expands Smart Care’s commercial and industrial refrigeration capabilities in North Carolina and the surrounding region.
• Birmingham, Ala.-based A Advantage Air bolsters Smart Care’s existing capabilities in Alabama. A Advantage provides emergency repair, installation and planned maintenance services for refrigeration, HVAC and cooking equipment. A Advantage joins Smart Care’s Foodservice Equipment Solutions business.
• Finally, the addition of Metroplex Refrigeration—a commercial repair, installation, leasing and planned maintenance company for commercial refrigeration and ice machine equipment— increases Smart Care’s operational density in the North Texas market. Metroplex, founded in 1985, repairs, maintains and installs all forms of refrigeration equipment, as well as leases ice machines, for the commercial foodservice industry throughout Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding area. Metroplex also joins Smart Care’s Foodservice Equipment Solutions business.

These three acquisitions mark Smart Care’s 10th, 11th and 12th acquisitions overall since partnering with Wind Point in March 2022. Smart Care says it will continue to seek strategic acquisition opportunities, with a focus on leading commercial refrigeration, kitchen equipment and HVAC repair and maintenance service providers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
