Smoothie King is hot on its pursuit of ruling the smoothie world, putting up some big numbers in its recently concluded quarter.

For instance, 38 new store commitments, 28 new store openings in 16 states—two of which (New Hampshire and Delaware) are new—plus one that’s a bit of an outlier: its first new Austin, Texas store in three years. All of these figures constitute the brand’s Q3 2024 growth data, which represents the highest number of quarterly openings in six years and the second-highest in brand history.

Among the 28 new openings are “strategic locations” like the high-traffic Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, plus the opening of two new stores in Colorado as part of a broader expansion plan for the state. Looking ahead, six of the 38 new-store commitments fall within Colorado’s borders and are set to open in the next three years.

“Our Q3 results reflect our focused approach to growth and expansion,” says Chris Bremer, chief development officer at Smoothie King. “With 28 new stores opened and 38 new commitments secured, we’re seeing strong momentum across the country. Franchisees are reinvesting in the brand, and we’re breaking into new markets, positioning ourselves for continued success into the next quarter and beyond.”

Founded in 1973, Dallas-based Smoothie King boasts more than 1,200 units nationwide.
