Thrive Restaurant Group has acquired Denver-based Modern Market Eatery. Thrive has been a franchisee of Modern Market since 2022.

Modern Market, created in 2009, includes restaurants in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Texas, with licensed locations in Colorado, Georgia, Indiana and Massachusetts. Last November, it opened its first drive-thru.

Robin Robison, current COO of Modern Market, will assume the role of president of the brand for Thrive. Thrive previously purchased three Modern Markets in Austin, Texas, and has built two Modern Markets in the Kansas City, Mo., area. The acquisition expands the Thrive holdings into seven total states, operating 24 restaurants and five licensed locations.

Thrive operates over 190 restaurants across six brands, which, along with Modern Market, include Applebee’s, Bakesale, Carlos O’Kelly’s, HomeGrown and Qdoba.
