Walmart, Dunkin’ Team Up on New Option

The big-box store says it's ‘uniquely positioned’ to scale restaurant delivery rapidly, with a store within 10 miles for approximately 90% of the U.S. population.

The Walmart app is gaining new energy with a Dunkin’ add-on.

Soon, shoppers of the 150 Walmart stores with existing in-store Dunkin’ units will be able to select Dunkin’ beverages and meals to be included with delivery orders. Eligible customers will see the option in the Restaurants tab on the Walmart app.

Eventually, customers at the majority of Walmart’s 10,000 locations also will be able to order from traditional Dunkin’ locations outside of Walmart, says the announcement.

In June, Walmart also announced delivery from in-store restaurants, including Subway.

“Our goal is simple: make it even easier for guests to enjoy Dunkin’ whenever and wherever they want it. By bringing Dunkin’ into the Walmart shopping experience, we’re creating another convenient way for guests to get their favorite beverages and meals at the speed of Dunkin’,” says Scott Murphy, Dunkin’ brand president and Inspire chief brand officer. “By combining the strength of Walmart’s delivery platform with the appeal of our Dunkin’ menu, we can reach more guests in more moments, creating an experience that fits naturally into everyday life.”
