Atlanta-based chicken chain Zaxbys is adding AI camera timers to help modernize its off-premise operations.

The technology captures and analyzes anonymous data to measure line abandonment as well as speed of service, helping operators to potentially identify and improve upon bottlenecks as needed.

“At Zaxbys, we’re always looking ahead, using the latest technology to make every experience better—whether you’re a guest enjoying your meal or a team member preparing it,” says Sharlene Smith, COO of Zaxbys. “This deployment lays the foundation for AI cameras to assist our team members in more visual tasks, so they can focus on providing a better experience for our customers.”

Zaxbys, founded in 1990, operates across 17 states, with the March 17 debut of its dual drive-thru unit in Locust, N.C. marking its most recent opening.
