Huey Magoo’s Plots Texas Expansion
The Orlando, Fla.-based chicken tender brand says it is on track to reach 100 locations this year.
Huey Magoo’s has signed a 15-unit agreement in Texas with SMR Capital Group, an experienced multiunit operator.
The development will span counties including Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston and Montgomery to strengthen the brand’s footprint in the state.
SMR is led by managing partner Muhammad Ali Akbar and operating partner Jason Gilbert.
“We were deliberate in selecting a brand that aligns with our long-term growth strategy, and Huey Magoo’s stood out for its strong fundamentals and scalability,” Akbar says. “We see a significant opportunity in our territory and look forward to building a high-performing portfolio across these markets.”
Founded in 2004, Huey Magoo’s currently has over 85 locations across 12 states.
