FEDA Seeks Public Comment on Draft Standards

FEDA has invited public comment on its Product Data and Shipping, Packaging and Handling draft standards. Industry professionals can examine the standards and submit feedback by December 14.

The FEDA Future of Distribution Council and its subcommittees developed the two standards. The Shipping, Packaging and Handling Standard provides practical, industry-informed guidance for reducing freight damage in commercial foodservice equipment and supplies distribution. Similarly, the Product Data Standard offers guidance for the creation, management, maintenance and exchange of product information used throughout the industry.

FEDA is now seeking feedback from industry pros before the standards move into the finalization phase. The purpose of the review is to identify issues, gaps, unclear language, implementation concerns and opportunities to improve the standards.

Submitting Feedback to FEDA

Mail completed public comment forms to FEDA Director of Industry Programs and Professional Development Ashley Mueller at ashley@feda.com. The appropriate FDC group will review all submitted comments as part of the revision process.
