Acosta Acquires Summit Marketing

Acosta, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based sales and marketing agency in the consumer packaged goods industry, has acquired the rep firm Summit Marketing Canada Ltd. The move marks Acosta’s entry into the Canadian foodservice market and expanding its coverage in North America.

Summit Marketing, founded in 1985, represents manufacturers and products across its home base in British Columbia, and the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Helmed by President/CEO Doug Spencer, Summit will become Acosta Foodservice Canada.

Founded in 1927, Acosta Foodservice provides integrated sales and marketing solutions for food and non-food manufacturers, distributors and operators across all away-from-home meal channels. The firm serves more than half a million foodservice operators across the United States. “Expanding into Canada is a major milestone for Acosta Foodservice, and we are proud to be partnering with Summit Marketing to make our vision a reality,” says Acosta President Mark Hayden.
