Huddle House Goes Small And Wide

The Evolution store design the family-dining chain introduced a few years ago is proving successful enough in boosting average unit volume to prompt a new smaller, 2,000 sq.ft. version, with fewer seats and reduced development costs. The Atlanta brand is expanding into new regions under a five-year plan that includes opening a dozen new company stores annually; it has 10 new franchise locations set to open before summer, spanning seven states from Virginia to Texas. Huddle House, which opened 11 units and inked 25 franchise deals in eight states last year, has 390 locations open, under construction, or in development.
