New Leadership Coming to Jack in the Box

Jack in the Box announced today that Darin Harris is to become its new CEO.

The onetime CEO of CiCi’s Pizza, Harris has also served in leadership roles at Arby’s Restaurant Group and Captain D’s Seafood. Additionally, he has been a franchise operator for Papa John’s Pizza and Qdoba Mexican Grill.

Most recently, however, Harris was CEO of North America for IWG PLC, the holding group for flexible workspaces, such as Regus, Spaces, HQ, No18 and Signature by Regus.

“We are enthusiastic about the breadth of experience Darin brings to the Jack in the Box team," said David Goebel, current independent lead director. "Darin is a proven leader with a strong background in franchised organizations, both in leadership positions and as a franchisee himself.”

Current Jack in the Box CEO, Lenny Comma, announced his retirement December 2019. He will serve until Harris takes over, which will be by mid-June, according to a company statement.

Based in San Diego, Calif., Jack in the Box currently has 2,220 restaurants across the United States. It was recently awarded a 2020 FER Management Excellence Award.
