Kalamazoo, Mich.-based foodservice equipment and supplies dealership Aldevra has acquired a bid-build division from a foodservice equipment designer, a move it says will allow it to expand its equipment and installation capabilities for federal, institutional and commercial accounts.

The office, based in Maryland, will be led by Aldevra’s new regional vice president, Charles Whittaker. Whittaker brings nearly 30 years of experience in the construction and foodservice equipment industry to the role. He is also a certified electrical journeyman and certified heating, ventilation and air conditioning technician with an HVAC contractor license.

“Our government customers have asked us to provide additional foodservice equipment manufacturers and manage complicated projects,” says Rodney Marshall, Aldevra president and CEO, in a press release. “We’ve worked with Charlie and his team for years, and our customers are thrilled to see him as a full-time addition to the company. Now we have more experience and knowledge on our own staff to perform bigger, complex foodservice equipment, installation and construction projects.”

Marshall adds that the Maryland team also brings connections to commercial accounts.

In addition, Aldevra announced it has become an authorized foodservice dealer for Hobart Food Equipment Group, a manufacturer of commercial food equipment for cooking, food preparation, dishwashing, waste reduction, weighing and packaging.
