Alto-Shaam announced today that 35-year foodservice industry veteran Jack Scott, senior vice president of general market sales, will retire at the end of the year.

Scott’s experience with Alto-Shaam began in 1987 when he worked for a distributor, introducing the manufacturers’ products in Australia and the Pacific Rim. In 1998, he returned to the U.S. as Alto-Shaam’s national accounts manager and western regional sales manager, while maintaining leadership of the Australia and Pacific Rim market. He later advanced to national sales manager before being promoted to his current role.

“Jack has dedicated decades of outstanding service and leadership to Alto-Shaam and the industry,” says Steve Maahs, president and COO at Alto-Shaam, in a press release. “His strategic leadership has not only positively impacted the growth of the industry and Alto-Shaam but also so many of us who have been lucky to work with him, as the true friend and partner he is.”

Alto-Shaam hired Matt Webber as Scott’s successor. Webber has more than 15 years of commercial appliance and sales leadership experience. In his new role with Alto-Shaam, he will lead and manage the general market sales team and plan, direct and coordinate the team in developing relationships with customers, manufacturers’ representatives and dealer partners.

Webber will assume the role on Sept. 19 and work closely with Scott through the end of December. Webber will report directly to Lucy McQuillan, chief commercial officer.
