Spartanburg, S.C.-based Eggs Up Grill has named Kenneth Phipps vice president of franchise growth as the brand aims to grow from 56 locations to 100 by 2023.

Phipps joins the breakfast chain with more than 20 years of experience in franchise sales. He previously was the senior director of franchise recruitment for Urban Air Adventure Parks and also worked for brands like Boston’s Pizza and 7-Eleven.

In his new role with Eggs Up Grill, he will lead the franchise development process and manage strategic partnerships with real estate and architectural and design firms.

“What Ken brings to the table is his years of experience in recruiting a high-caliber franchise candidate, and that is exactly what we are looking for as we grow the brand,” says Eggs Up Grill CEO Ricky Richardson in a press release. “Where he really punches above his weight is after the sale and his ability to foster the acceleration of future development. Ken is a trusted advisor for our current and future franchise partners, and it’s that kind of experience that sets us apart.”

In the first quarter, the brand says it signed four deals with new and existing franchisees and now is eyeing multiunit prospects in Texas and Mississippi. Eggs Up Grill currently has locations across Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee and is opening in Alabama this summer.
