Carpigiani Appoints VP of Sales for Strategic Accounts

The new hire will focus on key partners, including his former employer: McDonald’s Corp.

Brian Smetana brings over 25 years of experience in the retail and commercial foodservice industry to his new role with Carpigiani, an Ali Group company.

Carpigiani North America has announced Brian Smetana as its vice president of sales for strategic accounts.

In this role, Smetana will assist in overall group support and lead Carpigiani’s global effort to develop and align strategic key account plans. He will primarily focus on key partners like McDonald’s Corp.

Smetana brings more than 25 years of experience in the retail and commercial foodservice industry, with knowledge in developing QSR and retail sales channels. He started his career at Ace Hardware in a business-facing IT role, then progressed to McDonald’s Corp., working to implement its first global data warehousing. Since then, he has held various sales and account management positions with Marmon Foodservice Technologies, Carter-Hoffmann, Doyon and LG Electronics.

“His extensive background, operational expertise and leadership approach align seamlessly with our strategic focus on customer-centricity, innovation and global partnerships,” says Penny Klingler, president of Carpigiani North America.
