CKE Restaurants Holdings, the parent company to Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, announced the promotion of John Dunion to COO.

A 25-year veteran of the company, Dunion most recently served as CKE’s chief supply chain officer. He joined the company as vice president of purchasing and was promoted to senior vice president of purchasing two years later. He has held progressive management roles, including chief administrative officer.

“John is an excellent leader with a penchant for team building and moxie for driving successful business outcomes,” says CEO Ned Lyerly in a press release. “John knows our business inside and out, has an excellent rapport with our franchisees and will continue to elevate operational excellence throughout the CKE system.”

Before joining CKE, Dunion worked for Unigate Restaurants, Jack in the Box and Taco Bell Corp.

In addition, CKE announced two other promotions. Brian Cassidy was named senior vice president of Carl’s Jr. operations, and Todd Huetinck was named senior vice president of supply chain management.

CKE has more than 3,800 restaurants in 44 states and 43 countries and territories. In August, the company announced plans to add more than 300 Carl’s Jr. locations in Russia.
