Darden Finalizes Chuy’s Acquisition

The full-service, Tex-Mex concept joins a portfolio of brands that also includes Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen.

Darden Restaurants announced Friday that it has completed its acquisition of Chuy’s, a full-service, Tex-Mex brand. The all-cash transaction had an enterprise value of about $605 million. Darden first announced the merger agreement in July.

With the acquisition now complete, Chuy’s joins Darden’s portfolio of differentiated brands which also includes Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s and Bahama Breeze.

Founded in Austin, Texas in 1982, Chuy’s operates more than 100 restaurants across 15 states.
