Don Announces Sales Leadership Transition

Roger Mellum is set to retire and Phil Blas will step up to VP, national sales.

As part of a planned leadership transition, Edward Don & Company has announced that Roger Mellum, vice president of national sales, is set to retire and Phil Blas will step up to the fill the role.

Mellum has served Don for 40 years. He’ll remain with the company through the end of 2026 to ensure a seamless transition and work closely with Blas.

“Roger’s 40 years of dedication have left an incredible legacy at Don,” says Steve Don, president and CEO of Don, in the release. “His leadership has been instrumental in the growth of our national sales business, and we’re grateful that he will remain with us through the end of the year to help ensure a smooth transition. His willingness to mentor Phil and support our customers throughout this process is yet another example of his commitment to Don.”

Blas’s career includes more than two decades in the foodservice industry and progressive leadership roles in Don’s field sales organization. He most recently served as regional vice president at Don. In his new role, he’ll report to Scott McDaniel, Don’s COO.
