Service company EMR recently announced two promotions within its second largest territory (the Eastern Shore/Southern VA branch).

Adam Armistead takes the role as service manager while Bill Hickman was named operations manager.

Here are more details on the two and their new roles:

Armistead joined EMR in 2008, starting as a field technician and moving up to field service supervisor before taking his newest gig. As service manager, Armistead hopes to help facilitate more cohesion branch-wide, as well as more oversight to help keep active jobs moving through service, EMR says. The company adds that Armistead has “excellent people and organizational skills and an extensive technical background.” He currently holds an HVAC-R unrestricted Master license with the state of Maryland, a gas fitters license, a universal EPA license to handle refrigerants, and numerous manufacturer certifications. Prior to EMR, he spent a combined total of 15 years at Tom’s Refrigeration Service and Coldmaster Refrigeration Service. Armistead joined the trade fresh out of high school, starting out with his father’s small refrigeration business. He worked on residential hydronics and progressed to commercial steam and refrigeration, then onto commercial cooking.

Hickman joined EMR in February 2020 as its assistant branch manager in Salisbury, Md. As operations manager, he will lead a 19-person team at the same branch. EMR says he possesses “expertise in customer relations, organizing, planning, and overseeing.” The service industry has always been a huge part of Hickman’s life, EMR adds. In 1983, his father founded Hickman Heating and Air Conditioning in Pocomoke City, Md. Bill worked in the family business as a lead service tech, installation manager and general manager from 1996 to 2013. In 2013, he left the family business and began his time with Lowes where he was service manager up until joining EMR.
