After rising through the ranks at Electric Motor Repair Co., Jamison Johnson now will serve as the operations manager of the company’s Baltimore headquarters.

Johnson began with EMR, a provider of service, parts and installation to the commercial kitchen and industrial motor sectors, in 2014 and worked as a refrigerator service technician, field service supervisor and refrigeration service manager.

As operations manager, Johnson will lead a team of 31 technicians, two dispatchers, one call taker and one salesperson.

Johnson is no stranger to the foodservice industry. Starting at age 15, he spent 12 years working various positions in restaurants before going to school for HVAC/R. After graduating, he installed HVAC controls at commercial sites before joining Pepco, working in the energy management industry. He later moved into residential HVAC/R, working for Sears Home Service and obtained his journeyman and HVAC/R license.

After joining EMR in 2014, he obtained his master HVAC/R license and began his path to management.
Now, Johnson hopes to expand EMR’s HVAC market and grow programs for commercial foodservice equipment repairs and maintenance.

“Every day at EMR is a new adventure with endless learning experiences. I love to watch people join this trade and make a career out of it to provide for themselves and their families,” said Johnson.
