The Italian quick-service chain Fazoli’s expects to make its debut in Puerto Rico late this year.

That anticipated opening represents one of five Fazoli’s locations planned for the island over the next six years, says FAT Brands (parent company of Fazoli’s since 2021, plus 16 other restaurant brands). Fazoli’s owns and operates nearly 220 restaurants in 27 states, while FAT Brands franchises and owns more than 2,300 units worldwide.

Fazoli’s serves Italian classics, like spaghetti and meatballs.

Taylor Wiederhorn, chief development officer of FAT Brands, says the development agreement is “significant, as it serves as a strong foundation for growing Fazoli’s on an international scale, which is a key strategic growth pillar for the brand.”

The deal is being carried out in partnership with franchisee Jorge Rodriguez Lockwood.

In late 2022, Krystal, too, made its debut in Puerto Rico, unveiling a 900-square-foot restaurant at the Outlet 66 Mall in Canovanas, Puerto Rico.
