Federal Supply USA’s Demetrios Selevredes II has spent over half a century in the foodservice industry, and he recently was recognized for his dedication to the correctional foodservice sector.

On Sept. 14, Selevredes received the 2021 Al Richardson Founder’s Award by the Association of Correctional Food Service Affiliates (ACFSA) during the association’s annual international conference, which was held virtually. The award recognizes an outstanding ACFSA member for their promotion of ACFSA and dedication to the correctional foodservice industry.

Selevredes joined his father’s business, Federal Supply USA—which recently celebrated its 90th anniversary—in 1946 and got to work expanding the company into new markets, including corrections.

Today, Federal Supply USA, a dealer of foodservice equipment and supplies, is a fourth-generation, family-owned company.

ACFSA was formed in 1969 to “enhance, represent and promote” the correctional segment of the foodservice industry.
