Jacksonville, Fla.-based Firehouse Subs has Mexico top of mind, with plans to open 100 units there in the next five years.

This year, Foodplay is set to open the first Firehouse Subs restaurant in Monterrey, Nuevo León, followed by additional openings in the metropolitan area. The expansion will create hundreds of new jobs in the country.

Firehouse Subs operates across the U.S., Canada, Switzerland, Mexico, Albania and the United Arab Emirates. The new agreement in Mexico marks another milestone in the brand’s growth strategy in Latin America and around the world.

“We believe Firehouse Subs has tremendous potential in Mexico’s growing sandwich market,” says Duncan Montero, LAC President of Restaurant Brands International, parent company of Firehouse Subs.
