Fogo de Chao is looking to elevate—quite literally—the guest experience. The full-service restaurant chain unveiled a new two-story flagship location in Coral Gables, Fla., that aims to put the customer in the center of “culinary discovery.”

A highlight of the location is an open-air churrasco bar where guests can watch gaucho chefs butcher, prepare and grill different cuts of meat over an open flame. It also features a grab-and-go market, dubbed The Butchery, that celebrates the art of churrasco and an executive lounge located on the mezzanine where guests can try premium whiskeys, bourbons and South American wines.

“What started in the foothills of Brazil over 40 years ago has now grown to become so much more than just a steakhouse, and with our new flagship destination in The Gables, we are reimagining how guests can discover the best of our brand beyond a traditional restaurant setting,” says CEO Barry McGowan in a press release.

The new location, complete with a 280-seat dining room, gives a nod to the brand’s Brazilian roots throughout, with rich textures, colors and materials. The brand says the design will serve as an inspiration for all future Fogo de Chao restaurants.

Founded in 1979 in southern Brazil, Fogo de Chao has 64 locations in the U.S., Brazil, Mexico and the Middle East, with eight more locations expected to open soon.
