Inspire Brands Appoints New Chief Operating Officer

Global multi-brand restaurant company Inspire Brands recently announced the appointment of John Varughese as chief operating officer, international.

In his new position, Varughese will oversee international departments including operations support, field business, training, field marketing and omni-channel for Inspire’s family of more than 9,000 restaurants across 60-plus countries outside of the U.S. As part of Inspire’s International Leadership team, Varughese will report to President and Managing Director, International Michael Haley.

“Our mission for International is to ignite global growth by leveraging Inspire’s collective strengths, and John’s experience in the restaurant industry will be integral in driving long-term success across the Inspire portfolio,” Haley said in a press release.

Prior to this move, Varughese served as senior vice president, international for Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins—both of which are Inspire brands. During this time, he worked alongside franchisees and licensees to drive sales and unit growth internationally. Previously, he served as international business manager of Dunkin’ and manager of the Gulf region for Galadari Ice Cream Company, Baskin-Robbins’ licensee in the Middle East.
