Jollibee Changes Its Blueprint in Orlando, Fla.

Florida's soon-to-open Jollibee has one thing the brand's other U.S. stores do not.

International fried chicken chain Jollibee will debut a new store in Orlando, Fla.—and, in a first for the brand in the U.S., it features a two-lane drive-thru.

On opening day (Jan. 18), customers will be able to pick up orders to-go, or hit the two-lane drive-thru. In the coming weeks, the brand says it will offer dine-in, online ordering and delivery, too.

With changing customer behaviors, various brands have recently expanded drive-thru lanes or, in some cases, debuted their first drive-thrus. Examples include Portillo’s, which opened an off-premise-only, three-lane concept in 2022. Tropical Smoothie Cafe, too, recently doubled up its drive-thru for the first time, with one lane dedicated to mobile orders. And in November, Sweetgreen’s first drive-thru (dubbed its “Sweetlane” prototype) opened in Illinois.

Jollibee’s new Orlando location is its fourth in Florida—where it first debuted in 2017—and 87th in North America. According to the press release, Jollibee expects to further expand into new U.S. markets this year, though exact locations were not clarified.

Jollibee Group—which also owns Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Yonghe King, Hong Zhuang Yuan and Smashburger—operates more than 6,300 stores across 34 countries.
